You can increase your Android Smart Phone's battery backup dramatically by using some software. But you need to root your Android in order to do so. If you are afraid of loosing your data during root, you can use 'Go Backup' to backup all your details and then copying the backup file to your computer and then rooting your smart phone (for more details about rooting Google it or search a video in You tube).
When you have rooted your phone, install Chainfire 3D with plugins (For this visit this link- https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B_XtTuAVFqAwVlFOaTJlZDFMV0U/edit ) After Installing Chainfire 3D you will need to install the CF3D driver for this go to-
After Installing the CF3D driver your phone will reboot, then scroll down and click on 'Install Plugins/ shaders' and then install the drivers and then select your processor's driver (for ARM processors select the Qualcomm driver).
After that, go to 'Default OpenGL settings' and select 'Reduce texture quality' and 'Reduce Texture Size'. And then just reboot your phone and you will be surprised by your phone's performance then, there won't be any lags at all but this can make your gaming experience somewhat poor and you won't see any image clear ! But the UI will have no bad looks it will always look cool !!
The Battery backup of my Galaxy Y increased ridiculously from 18 - 20 hrs to 30hrs+ and you can see the Cell was on Standby for 9hrs, Voice Calls for 9hrs, In idle mode for around 8hrs, WiFi turned on for more than 3 hrs and display on for around 2 hrs (The phone has a proximity sensor which turns the screen off while on call, to increase battery backup. So the Display on time is much less than the others) and you also know that the Voice calls drains the battery a lot if you talk less your phone can even give a backup of more than 2 days !! and thats really superb !
In case you want to see images and play games just got to 'ChainFire 3D' then 'Default OpenGL Settings' and deselect 'Reduce texture quality' and 'Reduce texture size' and if you want even better graphics select 'Unroll Textures' and reboot your device, images will be sharper and clearer than ever but this will drain your battery much faster!
