Today after using my Samsung Galaxy Y for almost one month I decided to write a full review of it. This phone Samsung Galaxy Y is the cheapest android of Samsung in the market.
This phone is 3G enabled but it has no front facing camera which makes you unable to make video calls. It has only 2MP camera with no flash and it is fixed focus. This phone does not supports Adobe Flash player, but you can play them by using different web browser which have their in built flash player like the Dolphin Browser HD. This phone has got low resolution i.e, pixels per inch or PPI because of which you may see the screen grainy(when looking it more curiously, but in normal use its screen is far better than the phones available in that range). As default you get Android Gingerbread v2.3.5 in which sometimes I observed time lags in shuffling from one app to another after 10 days of use but when it got updated to Android Gingerbread v2.3.6 on 17 Jan 2012 all became well and it is working very fluid. This phone has a capacitive touchscreen and because of the 832Mhz processor and TouchWiz 3.0 the screen is very fast to respond.
MESSAGING
Talking about its messaging you get 3 types of keyboard in it, by default you have virtual qwerty board on it and in settings you can change it to 3x4 keypad or Handwriting box. It has XT9 predictive text input which is very difficult for me to use. It has threaded view, so you can very quickly reply to someone's message and messages having more than 160 characters are not broken.
CAMERA
Yet it is a 2MP camera this phone captures very sharp images. It has got smile shot and panorama shot. Its panorama shot is very nice. Talking about the modes of capturing it has Landscape, Night, Party/Indoor, Sunset, Dawn, Fall colour, Candlelight and Back light modes.
MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE
This phone has very nice multimedia experience videos are sharp but if looked closely they look somewhat grainy. Its sound technology is very nice you will feel very nice while listening from its in-ear bud earphones. Its loudspeaker isn't that much loud but its fairly loud at which you can listen to music in your room very nice and smoothly. For better multimedia experience I would recommend you to install 'TTPod' this app is available in the Android app market. In TTPod you get many sound effects and equiliser settings so that you can make the music experience more better and it has a motion sensing technology too so that you can change music by just shaking your phone.
BATTERY BACKUP
It's battery backup is pretty nice. For its test I charged it completely and turned WiFi on and changed the WiFi settings to never off, from when I unplugged the charger and from there it's battery went for 23hrs+ and in normal use you will have to recharge it on daily basis like your normal phones.
Tips To Improve Battery Backup of Samsung Galaxy Y
Do cycle recharges. Cycle recharge means once you charge phone use it till it gives warning and then recharge it. This will definitely improve battery backup. It not only improves this phone's battery backup this process can be used to improve battery backup of many phones.
UDATING Samsung Galaxy Y
If you have bought Samsung Galaxy Y and you are feeling some problems like touchscreen time lag or anything like that, then update your smartphone. The update process will take some time and you will be prompted to update it's additional packages and this will take up to 6 installations and once you have started the update don't leave it till the process is complete.

OVERALL
This phone is a very nice phone and you get a bundle of features in very low price. I will recommend it !
