Very useful post for all who don't the extent of Intel. All think that AMD has got the best gaming processors but this is a myth ! Many think that if a processor has more cores it will be better in performance which is wrong and that's why I am making this post so that eyes of such people gets open. And this week will be the processor week and in these 7 days I will be posting about top 7 gaming processors of the world. So lets talk about the top most one the Intel Core i7 3960X.
This processor is a combination of cores and performance and is a Sandy Bridge- E one and that's why it has got the most benchamarking points (processors are categorised best or inferior according to this) i.e, 14,007. It has Max TDP of 130 W and has VID Voltage Range between 0.6V - 1.35V and have a maximum temperature of 66.8°C . And now lets talk about its supported memory, you can add upto 64GB of DDR3 4 channel 1066/1333/1600 RAM. It has got 10 PCI Express Ports. Talking about some of its supported advance technologies. It support Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, Intel Hyper Threading, Intel Virtualization tehnology (Vt-x), AES New Instruction, Intel 64, Idle States, Advanced Intel Speed Step Technology, Thermal Monitoring Technlogy and Execute Disable Bit.
So now comes the pricing, as it is the best gaming processor and that makes it out of budget to many of us at $999 - $1059 which is around Rs 85,000 in India.
