1. Indica eV2
It is the latest hatchback launched by Tata, the new indica eV2. Tata claims that it is India’s most fuel efficient car which will offer you the new CR4 engine which Tata says will give you a mileage of 24 kmpl which is approved bi ARAI. Indica also comes with a MPFI engine, bu the mileage is not that good.
2. Tata Nano
In addition to being the cheapest car in India (and the world), the Tata Nano is also the most fuel efficient. It gives a mileage of about 23.65 kmpl. The high fuel efficiency has been achieved with a 2-cylinder, 624 cc rear engine and rear wheel drive system, and 4-speed manual transmission. The small wonder from Tata Motors has capitalized on the fuel economy factor like none other.
3. Tata Indigo eCs
Tata’a Indigo eCS gives a mileage of 23 kmpl, making this diesel car, India’s most fuel efficient sedan. It has a revolutionary Common Rail C4 engine and is also a BS-IV emission compliant car.
4. Hyundai i10
Hyundai i10 is the company’s best performing car. The petrol version's mileage – 20.36 kmpl, could be one of the reasons of its success story.
5. Maruti Suzuki Alto K10
It’s a new version of Brand Alto which has already the country’s favorite car which comes with an incorporated K series engine to further enhance the fuel efficiency. With a mileage of 20.2 kmpl the car can be rated as the best in the petrol version A2 segment cars.
A stylized cute innovative design coupled with supreme performance coming from the 998cc 3-cylinder K10B engine, the car can produce maximum power of 68 ps@6200 rpm and a peak torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. Well Maruti Suzuki produces cars that are fuel efficient on the Indian roads and the new Alto K10 would testify for the statement
6. Maruti Suzuki A-star
Maruti Suzuki has been working to bring some really good mileage giving cars and you bet there are a few Maruti cars spotted in the top 10 best mileage giving cars. Maruti A-Star, may have not been a super hit of the Maruti models in India, but it has become one of the international favorites in the first year of its launch. The car boasts of 19.6 kmpl mileage which is actually the best in the B segment. Besides mileage, the Maruti A-star has several other features every prospective buyer can really look into. The Ford Figo is a large hatchback that is based on the outgoing European Fiesta platform. 10. Skoda Fabia
India’s most aggressive looking hatchback, Skoda’s Fabia is one of the most comfortable hatchback with beautiful German design, great interiors and also a great mileage of 19.8 kmpl.

Tata vehicles claim 20 to 25 kmpl averages and never perform.They do not give an average of more than 13 kmpl w/o a/c in city.Do not be fooled by the cunning publicity of Tata's.I have a Tata Manza to prove that which is only a year old.
